I agree it's a great shame, I think they were an excellent speaker. My only complaint about them was that unlike the IBL, which was built down to a size only, the Arivas were also built down to a price.
Who knows what could have been achieved without those compromises? (
Well, I'm sure someone at Naim knows, but, well... you know what I mean

Speakers! So much variation in what is achieved in induvidual rooms let alone variation in the the tastes of the buyers!
Some of us have found speakers we would never want to change, short of having a fortune land in our banks. Naim's ability to make fantastic entry level electronics is not in doubt I would think, never mind such extra-ordinary machines as the CDS3 and 555 [for two examples] at the other end. But I would think that producing a budget speaker to please everyone is much more difficult.
Naim speakers have a place, and it would be a sad day in my book if the SL2 or DBL disappeared, but I am sure that the nSat system has a very strong future, even though Nigel [above] is not overstuck by them.
But the disappearance of the Arivas like the NBLs before them seems to have been due to the problems of cabinet manufacture.
If there was a stronger demand, these difficulties would no doubt have been solved. Where now for the Ariva replacement I don't know, but it is not as if there is any shortage of speakers in the price range to suit every taste. The main disadvantage for Naim is that few people seem to use a Naim speaker set outside a Naim set of electronics. Not everyone using Naim electronics actually uses Naim speakers either, so there is always going to be a relatively volume of production disadvantage, which is less significant in the more expensive models, where the higher price would, I imagine, allow for a profit to be turned even with quite small volumes, though this does not appear to have been the case with the NBL.
Kindest regards from Fredrik

Et pourtant sur notre forum il y en a.The main disadvantage for Naim is that few people seem to use a Naim speaker set outside a Naim set of electronics.
