Mu-so Gen 1, firmware 2.1.0 is live although, it may be filtering through the system for some, and this is for the naim radio update. I’ve checked update works here ok.
No other changes have gone into these releases.
We have also made available 7.3.0 APPs to support Naim Radio for these products.
Please remember to remove all your old presets.
n.b. Windows users would be best advised to use administrator mode when downloading and applying the update.
A special note regarding the original Unitis;
This range of products contain streaming boards from a company Audivo with the board called eDMP followed by a number indicating its generation
eDMP1 (aka 1D) - first generation. Analogue iPod link, 200MHz processor, 802.11bg Wifi. As used in Uniti from around 2008 to 2010. Software wise we can’t upgrade these any more. Do not try to update!
eDMP2 (2D) - second generatiin. Digital iPod link, 200MHz processor, 802.11bg Wifi. Supports up to 24/96 when connected to ethernet. Used in various products from 2010 to 2013. We had a go upgrading this, but so many things broke and scale of job with expanding on each fix done, we gave up on the idea. Do not try to update!
eDMP3 (3D) third generation. Digital iPod, 240MHz processor + more ram/flash, integrated 802.11n wifi. Supports up to 24/192 when connected to ethernet. Used in most products between 2012 until the range was replaced starting around 2018. This processor we have updated to support the new internet radio. We also updated this about 4yrs ago to handle new Tidal login + had to engineer in a new https TLS stack…. That was VERY painful! Update is possible.
The final missing part is Muso/Qb gen 1 which uses a Bridgeco CX870. This module is a cost engineered version of an eDMP3, but processor has most of the Wifi built in (802.11bg) and fixed some of the dma bugs. We upgraded these as well.
So overall:
eDMP3 & CX870 - upgrades available.
eDMP1 & 2 - no upgrade available. Don’t attempt to upgrade as arm vs streamer can end up on code that are incompatible with each other,
