J'ai pu faire une brève écoute du DAC Naim chez le revendeur...I had a (very) brief DAC demo during the US recapping "festival". First the DAC fronted by a Macbook- next with a power supply added - and finally with the HDX feeding the files (as opposed to the MacBook). The DAC without a power supply - what you would expect for $3K. Add a power supply - BIG improvement - I would not consider it without the power supply. Do keep in mind that this combo exceeds $10K - so it performs however it is not cheap. We then pulled the Macbook out and replaced it with the HDX - better - but $22K - not better enough (for me) to justify that kind of expenditure. Finally compared it to the CDS3 - the CD player EASILY held its own Smile .

Mes impressions :
Mac/DAC sans l'alim...que peut-on espérer pour 3000 dollars!
Mac/DAC avec l'alim 555PS...enorme amélioration!!!
...à tel point que je ne peux envisager le DAC sans l'alim!...mais on est déjà à 10.000 dollars!
On retire le MacBook et on met le HDX, c'est mieux, mais on atteint 22.000 dollars!
...et pas assez determinant pour moi comme amélioration pour justifier une telle somme!
J'ai ensuite écouté le CDS3 pour voir ...et il joue sans crainte, facile, tranquille, c'est autre chose
(le CDS3 était sûrement alimenté par la 555PS)
